Git 

 Git is version control software, meaning that it helps you keep track of changes made to a set of files, it's free, it's lightweight and it's, broadly speaking, amazing. It took a little to get my head around at first and I definitely still reach for lists of commonly used commands but it's transformed how I store and update my software projects.
